So, it looks as though the IA-DNC, like flaming dumbasses, depended upon a new system (a reporting app for phones) with no tested backup in place.
Addendum: And, if management is handling it in the traditional way, it's entirely the fault of the programmer who had to produce something at the last minute, load it up with silly bells and whistles, and deploy it without being able to load test it on a variety of platforms.

Date: 2020-02-04 05:22 pm (UTC)When I rolled an election reporting system for my last job working for a city, I tested that thing ruthlessly. It worked perfect, also spawned to the city's cable TV channel, and we received a compliment from the local paper political reporter who said he'd been covering election results for over 30 or 40 years and these were the best results he'd ever seen.
And I designed them all by myself.
Of course they were scrapped within two years because my boss was an ass.
