My Amazon package just came. To my absolute delight, it was the crows who alerted me to the presence of the deliveryman.

It's interesting. Normally the dogs erupt in a "HUMAN ALERT!" frenzy. But with snow on the ground, I guess they don't hear it.

They are the most perfect birds.

Yeah, it was interesting. They're very much aware of everything that goes on around them. I could tell right off when they started in with the alarm call that it was something unusual. When I go outside, I get the kind of laid-back alarm call, more of a "be aware" than an actual caution call. They see me every day, and I've never done anything threatening, plus I distribute peanuts sometimes. This was much more strident. Someone was coming that they didn't know.
