Morphicon Zoo Trip
Sep. 9th, 2006 05:28 pmSunday, September 24th is Morphicon Zoo Trip Day. We'll be going to the Columbus Zoo http://www.colszoo.org/
We'll meet at 9am outside the main gate, then wander around through the zoo as a group. Parking costs $3, and admission is $10, which is about average for a zoo this size. They're open 9 to 5, so it's a bit more than a dollar an hour, which is a fair price for zoo-going.
The new AsiaQuest area is now opened. They've got Tigers, Wahs, Frootbats, and some sort of odd-looking Bear as well. If you've not been to Columbus, it's a pretty nice zoo in general, with a huge Manatee tank, as well as a tropical reef, and two different kinds of Otters. There's a magnificent dark tour of Australian nocturnal animals, a bird jungle, and an aviary where you can feed nectar to Lorikeets, who perch on your fingers with their warm little feet. You can see pictures from earlier visits at

People are encouraged to bring sketchbooks, cameras, etc. Fursuits are probably a bad idea.
