Presidential Pot Pies
Jan. 13th, 2009 02:37 amIt's the Krell Mind Machine, re-themed as a Star Wars toy. It oughtn't to be that hard to rebuild one to resemble the real deal.

This is pretty cool. You can see the plans for the Inaugural Luncheon, including the recipes. If they had this up in the past, I never noticed. The 'Seafood Stew' (actually a sort of pot pie) sounds quite good - I may try that myself.

Flaster likes to be brushed. For whatever reason, he also likes to walk to and fro while he's being brushed. This would be fine. except that he doesn't really seem to grasp that my arms aren't infinitely extensible. He's a very bright Cat in other ways, so it's an interesting conceptual failure. He'll walk out of my reach, then turn and gaze curiously at me, wondering why I've stopped brushing.

So, I've known The Goof for a bit over eleven years now. In all that time, I've enjoyed eating at Arthur Treacher's, my favourite chip shop. All of the places that I've lived (and he has visited) have had an Arthur Treacher's nearby. Yesterday he was bemoaning the demise of AT's, and how they're not around anymore. I'm supposing the last time he went to one was in the late 70s, when they were uber-popular. I pointed out that he lives about 15 minutes away from one, which (by all appearances) has prolly stood there since the 70s.
This just goes to show something, although I'm not sure what.
