I sliced my thumb good on my mandoline cutter last night. It was quite deep, but because (I think) the edges of the wound were so cleanly incised, it's already partly healed, and not too sore, to the point where it doesn't really bother my typing much. I'm hitting the space bar with the joint rather than the pad of my thumb, but it works.
I take after my mother, in that neither of us are safe around sharp objects.

The electric company installed new metres today. These are all electronic, in place of the old ones with the motorized counter.
Second Edit: And now the two apartments next to mine suddenly seem to have no electrical power :P

I've noticed that at the hardware stores, everyone returns their shopping cart to the collection point, while at the grocery stores, people tend to leave them whereever, so you have to dodge around them as you drive.

You can tell the places where a cat lives, since the edges of the blinds are always mangled.

Yez Brits: My version of the BBC news page shows US loses bid to hold 2022 World Cup as an enormous headline, with England's loss down in small print on the sports section header. Is it that way there too, or am I seeing some sort of location-specific version?

Edit: And I just dropped my new can of bathroom cleaner, and the spray valve broke off. Fortunately it didn't begin spraying wildly, but it's a write-off regardless after about two sprays. :P
