The Pilgrims' Chorus
Feb. 8th, 2013 08:17 pmSo, looks like a trip to the clink for the Lord High Scoundrel of the Amishmen. I'll note that he's moderated his tone a bit from when they caught him, and he was loudly and publicly declaring that he was beyond the power of the US government, and would do as he pleased, because he was a bishop.
Tourists seem to regard the Amish as kind of cute and cuddly. Some are genuinely nice people, but a great many would (regretfully, and as a matter of necessity) burn the rest of us at the stake if they had the upper hand.

I take a quiet and perverse pride in living in a state which ends up in the news so often for the wrong reasons. As Austin Dern once sagely observed, you'd think the place had been built on top of a huge network of indian burial grounds, with the kind of stuff that happens here.
