Letting the Days Go By

This is why I hate and despise lawyers. The Great State of Ohio is fixing to help some murderer shuffle off this mortal coil. His lawyers are trying to stop this, which is fine by me - that's their job in an adversarial justice system. What pisses me off is that his lawyers are claiming that he'll suffer “agony and terror” while he's being killed.

We're going to execute him with a combination of Versed (midazolam) and Dilaudid (dihydromorphone), a major tranquilizer and a synthetic opiate. Agony and terror will exist only as hard-to-grasp theoretical concepts once he's pumped full of those. That's how I'd like to die, to be honest, but never having murdered anyone, I'm bound to end up with something less pleasant.

There needs to be some sort of law inflicting punishments on lawyers who make dishonest or facetious arguments. I'll not hold my breath.

The cold weather last Monday caused the pipes in the apartment complex's laundry room to burst. That's about the third time since I've lived here that the laundry room has been destroyed by flooding. Each time, they put in better equipment, though, so it's not that bad of a deal.

A certain amount of sea salt is dolphin and otter piss. A small amount, but it's there.
