Flowing through the Drains
Feb. 22nd, 2014 07:40 pmSo, Winter Wrap-up has arrived. A week ago everything was under two feet of snow, and today it's all melted away, except for where the piles were, and some places in the shade. Sunny and 60° today.

I went walking in Sharon Woods on the 2.5 mile loop trail that I favour. I've not been since October or so. The entire thing is mud and slush right now, so I got my feet soaked, but I had a good time anyway. Now my legs are wobbly, and I have that sort of 'blown' feeling that one gets from exercise. I'm in better shape than I suspected that I would be, which is gratifying.

One of the minor consolations of middle age and precarious health is that one has an unending supply of pill bottles in which to keep small parts. When I was younger, my older friends used to offer me empty pill bottles, which were generally a boon to me. Now I'm the one asking "Hey, does anyone want some pill bottles?", and chuckling at how glad people are to get them.

The other day at Subway, I had a tiny portion of excellent (if overpriced) cream of broccoli soup. I've been thinking about making some ever since. Today, at the Giant Weasel, it just randomly happened to be buy one, get one free day for broccoli. I'm guessing they ordered too much or something. Anyway, it's cheddar broccoli soup night!
