Well and good - I have this inhibition about not wanting to drill into the mains. Except... It tells me there're electrical lines inside the closet door. It tells me there're electrical lines under the floor. It tells me there're electrical lines inside my hand, inside the cat, and even in the very air itself. The skepticism is upon me.
On the bright side, if I needed a reason not to drill a hole though my hand, I suppose this has given me one.

I'd been sad these past few weeks, thinking that I'd seen no baby birds this summer. It occurred to me, though, that I'd seen a ton of baby ducks and geese - just no altricials. Not even the usual one or two lying dried up and dead on the sidewalk where they've fallen out of the nest. I think I found one empty robin's egg shell, and that was that.
For some reason, precocial baby birds occupy the "chicks" category in my mind, whereas the altricials are "babies". Lots of little chickens at the Fair too, some to think of it, and even got to see some hatching.

I'm coming to realize that I don't especially care that much about Puerto Rico. I don't think most Americans do either, come to that.

Drilled my anchor holes into the wall, and went to set the plastic anchors in place. A tight fit, which is what I intended. I took the hammer, and tapped one in, and... the lighting array for the plants went out! That very instant! I about had a heart attack, until I realized the timer had shut off exactly as I tapped.
I'm still a little nervous over that.
