The Confirmed Bachelor Sarnie
May. 6th, 2019 11:17 pmSo, you can get an "LGBT" sammich at M&S now. It's apparently a BLT with guacamole. The special snowflakes are all up in arms, of course, as something like this seems to qualify as "oppression" in their delicate hothouse perceptions. The usefully snarky phrase "the rage of butterflies" springs to mind.
Now, I'm queer as the proverbial three dollar bill, and, while I don't actually *dislike* guacamole, I also think that it doesn't need to be part of every sammich on earth, which seems to put me into yet another minority. I'd eat one anyway, because it's fun and stupid (and you don't last long in the furry fandom without an appreciation for both), and because I clearly remember a time when if a store had tried to market a playfully gay-themed food (or anything else) it would probably have resulted in boycotts, and perhaps vandalism. *
As so often seems to be the case, when actual progress threatens, the progressives go all-out to stop and if possible reverse it. Because how could people live without identity politics and grievances?
* One of the little rural libraries near here (in a 500 person farming town) recently had a "gay history" exhibit in one of their ever-changing educational showcases. The world is a different place.
