More Stuff to Read
Dec. 4th, 2019 12:46 amMarines in World War II Commemorative Series
A nice collection of history books about the US Marines in WWII. Each is about 30 to 40 pages long, with photos and maps. Most are about battles and campaigns, although some focus on topics such as African-American Marines in WWII, or how the USMC transitioned from a peacetime to a wartime footing.
For reasons that I do not understand, and that possibly cannot be understood by a non-bureaucrat, these are kept more or less hidden in the "Park History" section of the National Parks Service website. If there's a way to access them from the top of the site, I've not yet found it. I stumbled on these looking for information about the battle of Tinian.
