Crime, and Behaviour Modification
Apr. 5th, 2021 05:59 pmDEATH! The punishment that scofflaws won't shrug off! Actually, considering that he didn't die until a day later, I've got my doubts that he was exercised to death.

Aaaaand, Ceylon has apparently gone nuts. I'm reminded of the Pepsi/Frito Lay Corporation's surreal, self-damaging struggle to get only their snack products to be allowed inside the Indiana State Fair. That ended in something less than stainless and gleaming victory.

More tough talk from Lori Lightfoot. Considering that the boy was out at 2:30am on a school night, had apparently been shooting up the neighborhood, and his response to meeting the cops was to engage in a shootout with them (and get himself killed in the process), I'm not sure that "Oh noes! An adult must have given this innocent boy a gun!" really gets to the root of the problem. Nor am I sure that anyone must have given him anything. Guns are costly, and he sounds entirely capable of stealing what he can't afford.
And, for that matter, Chicago requires guns to be registered. Surely they can just look the gun up in the registry, and see who he got it from? And, of course, he didn't report the change in ownership, which makes him an even worse desperado!
