On Cheesefire Street

It entertains me to refer to Hosni Mubarak as 'HoseNose McBorax'. I'm easily amused.

Whoa! So there really is, or at least was before the typhoon, a City of Townsville.

Imagine my surprise on seeing a sports headline titled "McLaren dismissed by Wolfsburg", to find that it was about soccer. Apparently the Wolfsburg team fired their coach McLaren.

Indonesian sulphur miners. When I worked at Western, we occasionally used Indonesian volcanic sulphur. I was aware that it was gotten by people carrying chunks up out of volcanic craters, but I wasn't really aware that the volcanoes in question were quite so active.

I put new tires on the Cruftmobile. They were almost impossible to find in that size (145 80R12). I ended up paying $95 a tire. On the bright side, they're warranted for 50k miles, and there's roadside assistance if they ever go flat.

Wow, 12" tires? Remind me... Ford Festiva, Chevy Sprint, or Subaru Justy? ;^)

Yay! (I guess both that and the Sprint were rebadged... Suzuki Swifts?)

A few years ago I used to see a sort of beat up Metro convertible driving around my neighborhood. It was awesome every time because it suddenly made my VW Cabriolet feel like a huge, luxurious, powerful car by comparison. ;^)

Suzuki Swift, yes. It has a strange three cylinder engine, that uses jug-style cylinders instead of an actual block.
