Spring Cleaning

No modern surfactant that I have seen will cut high molecular weight oxidized grease with quite the ferocity of a 20% solution of Pine-Sol in boiling water. Even Dawn and Tide lose out to that. I also love the way it smells.

I bought a steam gun at Aldi's a few months back. By rights, it ought to be one of my favourite household appliances - it looks vaguely like a ray gun, it's dangerous, and it makes a cool noise. There just don't seem to be a whole lot of useful things you can do with it, though.

Bizarrely, there are theft rings operating to steal Tide detergent. The stuff retails for about $20 a small box (it really is worth it - it's that good), so I can see it being out of honest reach for the welfare class. You just really don't think of criminals having that much of a desire for cleanliness that they'll steal soap, though. I suppose it's vaguely reassuring in a way.

Tide's the one Daytona used to clean the track after the jet dryer exploded, BTW. They were just tearing through a pickup truck load of these huge institutional boxes of the stuff that cost $150 each.
