The Tubby Tyrant

So, amongst the many rumours circulating about the Tubby Tyrant, I'm struck by the one that he collapsed with some sort of cardiac event whilst at a village terrifying the starving peasants, and had to be rushed off to a hospital and given a stent. The story goes that the doctor, understandably nervous as well as entirely unused to working on people who have any amount of excess body fat, managed to botch the job somehow, and now the Beloved Leader is in a coma. Quite ironic if true. Poetic, even.

If Kim Jong-Un did "clutch his chest and fall to the ground" as some rumours have it, then he was probably brain-dead before he got to the hospital, especially if the location was rural.  There might not have been anything for the doctor to do, except go through the motions of installing a stent and hoping the patient wakes up some day.

At his age, being fat and a fan of tobacco and not a fan of exercising doesn't seem like quite enough risk factors to explain his sudden cardiac death, if that's what he got.  Maybe he was poisoned, or maybe he had a congenital heart defect (these often cause heart attacks in the 30's).  Or maybe none of the rumours are true and he did not clutch his heart and collapse but instead had a scheduled stent-implantation that was botched.

The obvious next Glorious Leader would be his sister, Kim Yo-Jong.  She is said to be a nasty piece of work, so Kim Jong-Un's death (if he dies) will not lead to any improvement in NK's poor international relations.

Some reports indicate that China is worried.

He (along with the nurses and techs) will be blamed and executed anyway, I'm sure. It had occurred to me as well that it was quite auspicious timing for the TT's dear sister to have been elevated to the politburo just last month. If she *did* poison him, then the doctor's sure to get the chop.

I wonder too how many stents an NK surgeon gets to install in his life? I'm sure it's not a routine procedure there.
