Scoundrels, and Farmers

Yeehaw!! Lock 'em up! I am sick to death of all this 'woke' chaos and violence.

I'm probably going to hell for laughing about this, but... Some bureaucrat somewhere, anonymous and faceless in the vast North Korean instrumentality, decided that it would cheer everyone up if apple farmers gave all the apparatchiks in Pyongyang a kilo of free early apples. Now. Notwithstanding that the apples aren't really ready yet, and most of the crop got ruined by the typhoon anyway. Apparently all of the apple growers are standing there with this deer in the headlights look.
And how miserable must that place be, anyway, if you can buy people's loyalty with a few pounds of apples?

So, whilst poking through the John Deere catalogue, the 1775NT corn and bean planter (furrows, plants, fertilizes, applies insecticide, and closes - everything in one pass, 24 rows at a time, each row individually controlled) which is what the guy who farms in back of us uses, retails for $250,000. That's just the tow-behind implement. You still need a huge, modern tractor to pull and control it. I'm amazed. I'd not have suspected anything close to that.
