So, impending war in east Asia, a hotel blown up in Somalia, Raqqa about to fall (finally), and even a hurricane on its way to hit the UK! And the BBC's big headline? "Oscars Board Expels Harvey Weinstein".

It's like living in Idiocracy anymore.

All the news that's shit to print.

A quick perusal of various news sites shows headlining stories are either the war against Trump (or Trump against the World) or Weinstein's debacle. I stumbled upon the Somalia article yesterday about halfway down one page, well below old news articles and various fluff.

Did Puerto Rico recover? Has Texas been rebuilt along with the Keys? *sigh*

I just can't conceive of that being even a news-worthy event outside of the entertainment section*, but most of the world seems to think that this is real news. It's because of stuff like this that I so often feel like some sort of outside observer watching what the humans do.


* or of course if one actually worked in the movie industry then it might well be interesting and relevant.
