So, back in August das Goof and I went to the Ohio Stoat Fair. These are some pictures. More will follow, and perhaps also a written account of the curious wonders that we saw. I've not really been in a journaly mood of late.

A woodcarver makes a wooden Xolo with a chainsaw.

A strange vase made of various grades of copper tubing and pipe. It's uber-cheap, but quite striking.

Only a dollar! Carnival lighting has undergone a transition from the fluorescents used in the middle of the last century back to the multiple small incandescents of the late 19th/early 20th. Personally, I miss the colored pastel fluorescents, but that's probably just because of what I grew up with. As Max pointed out, in a few years they're bound to be LEDs anyway.

A car covered in corn and soybeans. I think it was supposed to symbolize ethanol used as a fuel.

The Butter Calf, offspring of the famed Butter Cow. He's anatomically correct! He's also made from Texas butter.
