Olympics 'n More!
Feb. 14th, 2010 11:09 pmWho could EVER have predicted that forcing countries as disparate as Germany and Greece to follow a common monetary policy might possibly produce problems? What a completely unforseeable outcome. HTML really needs a sarcasm marker.
What do people think will happen? I'm betting that Greece will voluntarily leave the Euro, and regain control over their own currency. I don't see any other politically survivable options for their government. If they do that, of course, that's pretty much the end of the common currency experiment.
Interestingly, it's reported that a lot of Greeks are moving their money into foreign banks. I'm not the only one betting they'll abandon the Euro.

And the Daytona Five Hundred collapses into farce again. I really want to like nascar - I remember how much fun stock car racing used to be, back when they'd let them race start to finish. These days they seem determined to reduce every race to a two lap trophy dash, though. They work very hard to erase every bit of strategy from the sport.

I love the Vancouver background graphics. They're a pleasant pastoral green and blue until you look more closely, and start to see the various symbols of Canadia subtly woven through there.

A doomful night for the Americans on the moguls :P And now the Canadans have their gold medal at home :)
