One of the local ne'er do wells stole a statue of Jesus. From the Catholic Church. While the Vicar was watching. The guy is 56 years old, no less. There's so much I could say about this, but none of it is really sufficient. It led to a bizarre low-speed chase with the priest following him around in his car while he absconded on a bike.
No word about charges for that theft, so one supposes that the church was satisfied with the traditional "apologize and give it back". Owens Supermarket will presumably be less forgiving about the meat and cheese he had bulging under his jacket.

We're finally voting come Tuesday. There are actually several Democratic candidates on the ballot, which is a bit surprising - this is serious Red Country.
