Dreadful stories coming out about life under the Caliphate. I can't help but wonder about the little boy, and what having to see repeated, violent rapes is going to do to his sense of himself as male. Nothing good, I'm sure.

Nigeria lacks cancer-treatment devices. One can't help but notice that there's always money to send teams to the World Cup and the Olympics, though.

Nigeria tends to win the U-17 and U-20 World Cups a lot, though I don't think they get prize money from them. Maybe they can invest those World Cup winnings and Olympics (all countries get prize money regardless of how they finish in the World Cup) into cancer-treatment devices.

Maybe the U.S. missing the WC may be a blessing in disguise, who knows?
