Woohoo! Got my initial vaccination for the Chinese Doom earlier today, some eleven days before I was supposed to be scheduled. Indiana is rolling mightily along. And I got the Moderna vaccine, which addresses my concern at having the J&J stuff foisted off on me. So far, no pain or sickness or the like. This is a welcome change, as flu vaccine almost always makes me sick. There was an odd "prodromic" feeling in my arm for an hour or so afterward, which I also have with flu vaccine, but it didn't deepen into anything else. I've got the CDC app for symptoms-reporting too, which will be kind of fun (at least initially) being tracked. So, everything seems satisfactory here.

I should reach peak immunity on April 20th, then.

The CDC still asks about my overall health- that went from daily to weekly. Unlike two of my co-workers I had no adverse symptoms from either shot.

I figured I was signing up to be asked for the whole six weeks. I had no symptoms the first day - the second day the muscle was sore and hard, and the third day mildly sore, then nothing afterward. That, too, is different than a flu shot for me. Usually my arm gets diffusely sore, and then I'm sick for a day or two. I'll certainly take this over that.

Of the people I know who have received it, there seems to be a fairly even 50-50 split between those with no reaction and those with some of a reaction.

Yeah, mild pain and swelling today, but very minor. Nothing beyond what I'd expect, and compared to the influenza vaccine, nothing to complain about.
