I grew up in this quaint country called "America". You young folk may not believe it, but back in those less-enlightened times, it was our custom that no-one could be punished for a crime until he'd been convicted in a court of law, before a jury of his peers, regardless of how many people were accusing him.

Hard to believe, I know.

Lynch-mob mentality is a scary disease :|

Oddly enough, some countries prevent publication of 'allegations" in the media to stop such assumptive convictions, ...but there are people who would say that is unacceptable ...
