And the Marriage Crisis rumbles into its 14th day! Already families are breaking up, long-married couples simply wandering away from one another like sleepwalkers as the institution that once bound them loses its meaning. How much longer can we endure before civilization itself is destroyed?!?

I thought back today, back to when I worked for the health department in CT. I did some of the blood testing for marriage licenses.

Marriage licenses don't have all that long a history. The only reason CT started requiring marriage licenses in the first place was to force people to take syphilis tests. You'd think it'd be in everyone's best interests to force the maximum possible number of people to get tested for STDs, no?
