I'm amused by the speed with which Hamas backed down on their earlier decision to start targetting US citizens and interests. Their leaders seem to have at least /some/ instinct for self-preservation, for all that they seem willing to send out 14 year old boys as suicide bombers.

I still wish the U.S. had targetted Hamas as soon as they said that.

Would have made the hearings in Washington right now kind of moot.

The whole 'sending a mentally retarded 14yr old boy to kill some Israelis (and also Palestinians who were hanging around the same checkpoint)' was not exactly a PR coup, was it. Sort of did away with any sympathy they'd have globally for 'our leader was turned into greasy stain on sidewalk despite being paralized on stretcher by evil Israeli helicopter' rather nicely.
