Oct. 26th, 2004 07:34 pmIt's one week before the election, and Ohio still remains in play. For the first time in my life, my vote is actually going to count in a Presidential election, which is an impressive thought. The downside of this is that I'm being bombarded nonstop with political ads, and even people knocking on my door to try to persuade me of how I should vote. Bush and Kerry both keep coming to town and disrupting traffic with their rallies, not to mention the constant cloud of helicopters and fighter jets overhead. It's getting to the point of black humour. Still, it'll be over in a week (except for the lawsuits), and it's kind of neat to have this happen once in my life.
It's kind of like being on the jury. I did that one time too, and while I'm glad that I did, it's not an experience that I'd care to repeat. The devil of it is that you can't really be *sure* that you're making the right decision, and other people have to live with the decision that you've made.
