It's what everyone says instead of "serve notice". It's when you officially inform someone that you're going to sue them. I'm sure Sibe's on a first-name basis with the process server by now.

You know, if the guy didn't deserve everything bad that's ever happened to him, I'd probably feel a little sorry for him.

The two things about Sibe that stand out in my mind:

First, a few years ago when he posted that long, well-written apology to AFF, waited to see who'd forgive him, then posted again a few days later, mocking them for being gullible.

Secondly, last summer when he posted on LJ about a retarded fur that he'd lured to a bus station hundreds of miles from his home by pretending to be a girl that wanted to meet him, knowing in advance that the fellow didn't have money for a return ticket, then left him stranded, and posted a triumphant report celebrating his cleverness for having done this. As it developed, the whole thing was apparently a complete fiction, and again, he took the opportunity to mock those people who'd expressed concern or outrage for the putative victim.

There are lots of people who cause various types of drama within the fandom, but in every other case that I can think of, it's a result of conflicting interests, or a misunderstanding, or someone's feelings are hurt, etc. Sibe just seems to enjoy causing conflict for its own sake.

Gosh, 27 this year seems a bit old to be doing that sort of thing.

However I have been sorely disabused of the notion of adults being mature since at work, a woman known for her soap opera style operatics declared that she was going to give me the “cold shoulder”. Mainly because when she walked over my nice clean floor once, I followed close behind her mopping up her muddy footprints.

Giving me the cold shoulder entailed going to the vending machine and purchasing a packet of sweets, and then going round to everyone and saying, “I’m offering everyone some sweets” but then walking straight past me without offering any.

Forsooth and verily! I was revenged upon most mightily, never mind that she spent about 11 minutes worth of wages for that pack of sweets. :-O

That's the kind of behaviour you'd hope people would be outgrowing by third grade or so. Even there, though, she presumably felt that her cleanliness was being impugned by you mopping behind her, or something similar. She was trying to get back at you, even if she was doing it in a competely silly way. With Sibe, there just doesn't seem to be any reason, beyond his simple enjoyment of making others feel badly. Even his thievery, I think, doesn't really represent any beliefs about intellectual property. It's just something he likes doing because it pisses people off.

Yeah, to be fair I have in the past defended him, something which I should not have, since I have no way of knowing the veracity of any of the facts that whirl around him, save that he has been arrested now and has been convicted and is guilty of DV & Coercion.

I remember him posting up a prank back in 2005 where he claimed that he had been arrested, and then said it was all for the “lulz” afterwards.

It seems he died as he lived, living a life full of drama, much of it of his own making.
