(Read your more recent post too!)

This sets up for a good climax I think, but I can't understand the Alonso/Massa penalty. I think Alonso made a very brave statement about F1 not being a sport anymore. Although I can't completely agree with that, it is becoming more buisness and tech-driven.

Kubica impressive!

That was a bizarre and unfair penalty, but it's the FIA. They've got a reputation for purely arbitrary rulings, and I think that's a more likely explanation than a deliberate attempt to help Schumacher.

I've heard (and made myself) complaints about racing becoming more a business and less a sport since the early 70s. It's entirely true, but I'm not sure there's much that can be done to help it.

I'm just as happy to see Schumi gone, I suppose. He's undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best technical driver who ever lived, but he seems to have no sense of fair play or sportsmanship. He's very much a competitor for the modern age in that regard.

Did they show Alonso's blowup from Massa's in-car camera on British TV? The bottom end literally exploded, like I've not seen in a long time. Huge hand-sized chunks of hot metal were bouncing along the pavement, and one went right into Massa's right front.
