Morphicon Zoo Trip

rain_gryphonSunday was the Morphicon Zoo Trip. We got a total of thirteen people, a much better turnout than I'd been expecting. Despite being cloudy and cool most of the afternoon, it never did rain, and we got in a full day of zoogoing.

The Planetary Pumpkin, illustrating the last known location of the Giant Tiger of China, just north of the Great wall. The weekend was fall-themed, and they had pumpkin carvers, a corn roasting booth (I went to buy some just as they ran out), and of course, tap-dancers.

Lazy Tigers, sprawled out in the shade. They have such sweet faces. It's a pity about the reflections in the glass. I'm sure the Tigers would have enjoyed themselves much more as well had the glass not been there.

Johnnie Tanuki proved attractive to the Lorikeets. Despite becoming partially encrusted with Birds, he didn't get pooped on.

A lovely, relaxed 'Roo floomped out beside the path, calmly ignoring the crowd of noisy hominids as they chatter and point. They have such attractive, character-filled faces.

I may have the quote a bit wrong, but it was like that. George tried to argue having a kangaroo around would be handy. He could ... warn them if someone were trapped down a well, for example. Janet explained that's just Skippy, and they don't all do that.
