So, after some three years, we've finally managed to sentence Hussein to death. Had he quickly been tried and executed three years back, when he was first captured, before an opposition had had time to form around him, it might have done some good. It's pointless now. The fact that Bush is claiming this as a victory shows how little he really has to show.

The Indianapolis Colts, by dint of their virtue and skill, have once again defeated the evil New England Patriots :)

In a few hours, it's election time. I vote at the Villa Milano, a local restaurant. As many times as I've trooped through there to vote, I've never eaten there.

It'd be nice if they gave you food for voting, but I strongly suspect that'd be against the law.

There needs to be a cartoon character named "Contumacious Cat".

It takes 36 hours to unload the world's largest container ship, which is apparently delivering a megaload of Christmas decorations. I daresay most of the unloading is automated, and done by a handful or workers. I wonder how much economic impact a ship turnaround actually has on a harbour town anymore? Maersk's website reveals that this entire ship has 13 crewmen.

In the old days, of course, you'd get fifty or a hundred crew spending a week on the town while several hundred labourers unloaded the cargo. The modern way's undoubtedly quieter, but like many modern ways, takes a lot of the fun out of it.

There's apparently an outbreak of Teh Drama on FurAffinity.

I decided to cut my hair today a few minutes after I'd awakened, while I was still not entirely alert. This proved to be a mistake. I've currently got an eighth inch fuzz covering my head. On the good side, while it looks stupid, it feels neat. I enjoy running my hand over it.

Judging from when I lived in Liverpool in the mid-1990s, not very much. There was a fairly protracted dock strike during that time, and although it was quite heavily covered in the media, it made almost no difference to the day-to-day life of the city.
