Some woman in Dayton (about an hour from here) microwaved her baby. I suppose it's good that I'm still appalled by such things. I'm sometimes surprised that I haven't become completely jaded.

I wonder how close Mexico is to open insurrection? The leftists have said they'll stop Calderon from being sworn in Friday. It troubles me that the kneejerk response to a lost election anymore seems to be to try to pull down the entire system.

I've lived long enough to see someone murdered by an exploding robot dog. The future is now :D

Ohio plates are three letters, four numbers. The letters are specific to a license branch. Our local branch has just finished passing out the DUH plates, and now they're working through the EAT plates :)

Joe Biden speaks plainly. So far, the Democrats are sounding very much like a practical party who want to govern, rather than ideologues out to avenge their past defeats. The true test will come in January, but what I've heard so far makes me hopeful of progress.

For a while, back in 2002 or so, it looked like Bush had renounced partisan politics, and meant to lead. I do honestly think still that left to himself, without Karl Rove's evil influence, he would have done so. Bush and Rove seem to be an item, however.

But why do we only see this kind of reaction on the left? Marxist influence, maybe?

I'd not actually considered that. On reflection, I'm inclined to think not, since a Marxist scorns elections to begin with. It's worth thinking on, though.
