Michigan played Notre Dame today. One of them had to win. I'm sure it was a day of conflicting emotions for das Goof. On the one hoof, Notre Dame lost. On the other hoof, that means Michigan won.

For some reason, I became heavily motivated today, and started cleaning. I've cleaned the bathroom, partially cleaned the kitchen, and cleaned out the refrigerator. I'm usually somewhat slovenly during the summer, but for whatever reason I lacked the proper will to clean this spring as well, so that the place was getting really awful. Now I need to throw a bunch of stuff away, and reduce the clutter.

The Cubs are two games ahead, with only two weeks left in the regular season. Such seeming cause for hope makes the inevitable moment when the wheels finally fall off all the more keenly felt, of course. Honestly, they need to just announce that goats are always welcome in Wrigley Field, and put an end to it.

The minimal respect that I had left for Fernando Alonso has pretty much evaporated after hearing of his role in the McLaren spying scandal. He's apparently getting away without any penalty at all, which seems unfair. I'm waiting to see what the crowd reaction will be to him, next time he's on the podium. I'm really hoping to see Hamilton beat him, now.

For some reason, my cat started smelling very strongly last night. Not really a bad smell, but just a very strong cat smell. It's pretty much gone now. I'm not at all sure what happened. He seems healthy and happy.
