Votin' Day!

Dun mah votin'... We voted in the rec hall at St. Elizabeth's again. Very pleasant, welcoming church, with a garden statue of St. Francis talking to a bird that's perched on his hand, that makes me happy to look at it. I'm going to guess that Elizabeth of Hungary is the patroness of the church (the Catholic Church has a whole slew of St. Elizabeths), since she was a disciple of St. Francis.

Here, when you go to vote in the primary, you have to declare a party affiliation, or you can choose a non-affiliated ballot, which is basically just the issues with no candidates. This time, to my surprise, "Green" was one of the ballot choices.
*****
Statue of "Rough Sleeper Jesus". I'm guessing that this is intended to build sympathy for the idea of allowing homeless people to sleep on public benches. There's a certain irony in that no-one can sleep on the bench it was installed on. Nicer to look at than those little divider bumps they put on benches these days, though.
