They play a shorter, somewhat different version of this on TV here. It floored me the first time I saw it. The cuts to the song are a little jarring (but only a little), and the visuals just work perfectly for me. I've sometimes wondered if I was the only person in the world who thought 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' was a mighty piece of psychedelia.

If that was done with clay in the actual places depicted, that was amazing.

If it was done with computer graphics, it was still amazing.

There'd have to be some kind of armature underneath, if it's really clay. The pieces are just too big otherwise. Look when the big wave comes rolling along - you get single frame glimpses of people waving their arms and fleeing from the wave :)

I think it's real clay. Look near the beginning, where the yellow Rabbit squishes and reforms - he leaves a grease spot on the concrete. If that's CGI, someone was extremely careful.

I have also seen the commercial on television, over here in the Netherlands. I think it's wonderful.

I love it. It helps that that's been one of my favourite songs and albums since high school.

You just know the advertising team that came up with this have got to be just creaming in their shorts. I mean, when you create an advertisement... a commercial... that people go out of their way to see, save, and recommend other people look at...

I can just see a group of men and women in business casual, hovering around a computer watching the pageviews on YouTube and going, "SCOOOOOORRRRE!!!"

And I'm someone who has about 7000 lines in my hosts file, killing ad servers, and some regexp matching on the local proxy to kill what gets through that. I'd cheerfully watch an ad for anyone if it were coupled to content of that quality. The thing is, too, I've long believed that to be a fairly obscure song from an unloved album - I'm surprised they'd pick it to begin with. My main regret here is that they didn't just do the whole song.

I'm halfway waiting for Sony, being the flaming radioactive dumbasses that they are, to issue a takedown order on YouTube for copyright violation.

If Sony were to do that, it would be Epic Failure on a magnitude so great, no human means exists with which to measure it. Yeah, if that happens, there will no longer be any doubt whatsoever that Sony is truly the stupidest corporation on the planet, and I will be getting myself a Wii.
