They should have special Olympic events for heads of state to compete against one another.

This led me to wondering whether any head of state had ever competed at the Olympics. I can't think of any; the nearest I can get is Crown Prince Felipe of Spain (sailing, 1992) and before that our own Princess Anne (three-day eventing, 1976). The closest a British politician has got would seem to be former Liberal Democrat leader Menzies Campbell (200m, 1964). Not that a politician could be head of state here, but you know what I mean.

I know Nero competed in the Olympics while he was Emperor. I've no idea if it's ever happened in modern times, though.
