fundamental constants change in the vicinity of the sun (!)

It is ridiculous to claim that fundamental concepts change in the vicinity of the sun.  It is not so ridiculous to claim that things often thought of as constants (e.g., the speed of light) are actually variables that change in the vicinity of a gravity well and/or neutrino source.

A nice paper about an observed effect with no known theoretical cause.  That's where new science comes from!

More work is obviously needed, but that looked like a very nice correlation that they had.

I can't think it'd have much effect on age of the earth calculations, since distance from the sun (and presumably neutrino flux) won't have changed much if any during the age of the earth.
