Interesting! I'd actually never seen cats under the influence of catnip before. They really do appear intoxicated...

It's quite intoxicating, judging by their behaviour. The SmartyKat brand seems to be unusually potent. The slogan on the package is "Satisfies your Cat's need for... Stimulation!" Then there's Cosmic Catnip (http://www.cosmicpet.com/catnip.htm), which has the very best label designs ever :)

When I was a joey we had a Siamese that was way over to the extreme end of the spectrum in his response to catnip. Crossed eyes, foaming at the mouth, pawing at nothing, the whole nine yards.

Of course, ol' Charlie acted a little stoned most of the time, so I suppose it'd make sense that he'd be that much easier to push into the abyss.

The FlasterQat loves the stuff (nothing gets his attention like the catnip package) but like me, he's a quiet drunk. He eats his catnip, purrs and gets snuggly for a bit, then goes to sleep.

The soundtrack of the video needs to be replaced with "White Rabbit."

It'd be appropriate. I do like the Qat noises, though :)

In the words of Father of the Pride:

Our daughter is a niphead.

The stuff makes a pretty good tea, too.
