Brazil is actually having to deploy their Marine Corps to try and regain control of the capital's streets from armed gangs. That looks like an M125 in the picture - it's bad enough that they have to use those in their own city to move around, apparently.
I really hope that they paid record bribes to FIFA and the IOC to get the World Cup and Olympics, because I'd hate to think that both organizations were so imcompetent and/or self-destructive as to award their events to Rio otherwise.

This is odd. The Gambia is referred to in the BBC by it's correct name - 'The Gambia'. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, however, is allowed no such indulgences, and is always referred to by the shorthand version 'Democratic Republic of Congo'.

It appears that those fine fellows at the UN caused the Haitian cholera epidemic.
