So, I went to the store an hour ago or so. Among the things I bought were - an eight pack of Sylvania 100 watt incandescent bulbs! It seems a very small thing, but they were supposed to be outlawed on New Year's Day. A small glimmer of progress is still a glimmer of progress.

Call me old-fashioned, but I still prefer the old incandescent bulbs. Maybe I should go stock up...as soon as I get over this dumb stomach virus.

I love lightbulbs in general! The tungsten incandescents do give off a lovely light that no other common technology equals. That being said, if you like tungsten, you need to try carbon incandescents sometime. It's a beautiful, warm light that nothing else can match.

Yay lightbulbs!

Speaking of such, my husband bought one of those new CF bulbs. It looks like a cute little abstract sculpture and shines more brightly than the old incandescent bulb did. The new bulb is only 13 watts.

I'm not in favor of one particular kind of lightbulb, just sharing my experience with the new bulb.

The CFs do have some serious advantages as a lighting technology, yes. That being said, it's not the place of the government to dictate what lighting technologies people can use.
