Swine Song Marginals
Oct. 27th, 2012 05:44 pmSo, one of my colleagues has apparently gone insane. She suddenly stopped showing up for work, and another girl who's somewhat close to her discovered that she had actually had a breakdown and been committed. Child Protective Services came and got her kids, they took her away to the mental ward, and the whole nine yards. In retrospect, she'd been tending that direction for a while. She's a nice girl, and I feel sorry for her, but having a colleague suddenly go mad is one of the more thoroughly gothic bits of workplace drama I've ever experienced, and right before Halloween at that. Work now has a kind of Edward Gorey overlay to it for me.

Mitt Romney is stalking me. I feel sure of this. Two weeks ago he held a rally thirty miles away. Last week it was twelve miles. Now, the other day, he had a rally within a half mile of my house. I've lived with cats too long not to recognize this for what it is. One day soon, when I come home, he'll pounce me.
*****
Another week and a half, and I shall no longer have to hide and pretend that I'm not home when someone koocks on my door.

It's a cold, dark, rainy day. For some reason that just suits me perfectly, even though I'm feeling quite cheerful.
