In the German Kaiser's Garden
Oct. 28th, 2012 10:04 pmIt's going to be nasty outside, and I'm off work for the next three days, so I went out to the store just now so that I can stay in the nest until Thursday. Gonna be a lot of cooking, and a lot of reading in bed. I may get a flu shot tomorrow, but that's about it.
There's a very safe feeling about having a warm place to snug up in bad weather.

There was a catastrophic pileup at the intersection of 161 and Cleveland Rd, with all the east and turn lanes blocked, and maybe one of the west too. Fifty mph is too fast for that road in good weather, and at night, in the rain, with wet leaves, it becomes the Street of Doom. I think I recognized the one pickup truck, although I don't know the guy - it's just a truck I see around.

Meijer's had all the pretty Christmas things out. I walked slowly around, and looked at everything, like I was in a museum. There was one other woman there doing the exact same thing, with her husband impatiently trying to hurry her along. We smiled at one another. I didn't buy any, and virtuously resolved to wait until Halloween is over. I cried for a little bit after I got home, but not much. I'm so much better than last year, when I didn't even want to look at Christmas things.
*****
I got the next three sets of MLP minis. Now I've got a mini Zecora :) I think I'm going to set up my little 1950s cardboard Christmas houses this year, and use Ponies for the populace. They're about the right scale.
