On the Negative Twelfth Day of Christmas...

So, one of the local oldies stations started playing Christmas music on Nov 1, and announced that they were going to be 24 hour Xmas music for the next two months.  I quit listening, of course.  I hate that kind of thing, and by now, were I forced to listen, I'd be in an absolute toxic mood.  At any rate, tonight I decided on the way home from the store that it was about time.  Lo and behold, they were playing 'The Wall', which is about the least Xmassy thing I can think of.  Something changed.

It certainly looks like Obama is deliberately (if very slowly, and while hiding behind Britain and France, as seems to be his style in these things) moving us toward war with Syria.  There's no noticable objection from the Left.  We saw this before, when our Seals summarily executed Bin Laden and his boys, that the very same liberals who would have decried Bush as a war criminal were all okay with it since Obama did it.

War for political gain--yeah, sounds about right. It wouldn't kill Presidents to poll the Senate on whether or not to go to war with other countries.

It's so amazing to me - we don't even consider formally declaring war according to the Constitution anymore, we just totally cede that authority to the Executive a priori now, and give them carte blanche to do whatever they want militarily. This is completely contrary to the Constitution, and nobody notices? The Republic truly is lost...
