Waiting in a hot tureen...
Feb. 19th, 2013 09:59 pmKroger's was selling Blue Willow again, and I now have a tureen! This is one of those things that I've wanted in kind of a background way for a while. It's a very basic one, without a ladle or ladle-hole in the lid, and no undertray, but I like it. It's half-gallon size, which works for me. I eat a lot of soups and stews, and although just serving them out of the pot works okay, it feels much nicer to have a tureen on the table, even if it's oversize for just one person..

I've got a kind of thing filled with ceramic beads that you put in the microwave, heat it up, and lay it across your shoulders to deal with muscular tension. I've dubbed it a "heat shawl". So far, I like it.
