Just now, the ambulance with the British siren went past. I always feel as though I'm an extra in a Hammer movie when I hear that.

Ooh, it's a while since I've heard one of those. I still miss those two-tone sirens, though. They lasted longest on fire engines, and you do still very occasionally get one of those with a two-tone siren.

This is the only one I've ever heard. It belongs to some private ambulance company, I think. They just have a really eerie association for me, since Hammer used them in so many cut scenes with ambulances or police cars responding to yet another victim.
