An asteroid with rings. Who would've suspected that? When I was a little Xolo, only Saturn had rings.

They're theorizing that it has to have (so far undetected) shepherd moons as well, to have well-formed rings. On the other hoof, nobody thought something that small could have rings to begin with, so...

This has been in the news all afternoon. How hard can it be to find a dead body in a park? Maybe because it's DC, they're just having trouble finding the *right* murder victim?

Interesting asteroid bulletin!

When I am reading an old science book, I like to check how many moons the book asserts that Jupiter has.  The only correct answer is "we don't know", but "four" was the catechism from 1609 to 1892.  it was "twelve" by 1951 and it stayed that way during my childhood.  A thirteenth was found in 1971, then Thermisto was found in 1975 but lost again until 2000, so as of 1979 there were fifteen, which is how things stood until 1999-2003, when 34 more of them were found.
