So, Blackburn have Bolton, Norwich, and Swansea left to play. They've missed advancement, but also avoided relegation, and indeed look set to finish around the middle of the field.

The Go-Away-Dog-Song. An instant classic.

Cubs pulled back to .500 with a nifty ninth-inning win over the Diamondbacks, which left them also at .500.

Astonishingly enough, Buttgieg actually gets it. I really hadn't given the man credit for much intelligence.

That's hardly an original idea on Buttigieg's part. That both Trump's and Sanders' supporters were rebelling against the political establishment has been obvious to anyone having eyes to see with and ears to hear with for the last 4 years.

And like with Bernie, they'll probably rig the primaries for their favorite candidate.

I remain convinced that was a one-time deal for Herself not challenging Obama in 2012. I also suspect that the DNC is heartily sorry for how that turned out. I've seen no sign that they're getting rid of the Super-Delegate system, though, so I suspect they don't see anything questionable about the underlying principle - simply the implementation.

Or they made it up to her for losing in '08.

Yeah, but we're talking about Buttigieg here. My mom lives about 50 miles south of South Bend, and I've spent much of the winter and spring here, so the guy's on TV constantly. He's a good-natured, sincere little boy who's convinced that his experience as mayor of a college town should translate seamlessly to the White House. His populist credentials, so far as I can tell, consist of wanting people to call him "Mayor Pete".

South Bend was a nice place when I visited in 1963. We were in town to watch a farm team play ballgames over in Mishawaka. And even though I was only 9, I also fancied that I might attend Notre Dame someday, so we walked around the campus a bit. I was bored. They still made Studebakers in South Bend at the time, though only for a few more weeks longer. I also ate my first-ever McDonald's hamburger and french fries in SB on that trip. The McD's is actually still there. Our hotel across the street – a googie delight – is not, alas. Gobbled up by a hospital, I see. I remember watching 'Fractured Flickers' on the ultra-modern plastic portable b/w TV in our hotel room. Hans Conried and all. Such are my memories of South Bend. Such are my memories of South Bend.
