I'm that old...
Mar. 25th, 2018 05:47 pmHow old am I? I am so damn old that I remember when "60 Minutes" was a highly respected show that covered current affairs in depth, rather than a TV version of the National Enquirer. When I was in high school, I used to never miss that show. It would often be a topic of discussion at lunch on Monday. And yes, I hung out with the weird kids. Rainbow Dash would have been appalled.

It's Sunday, and a week before Easter, and absolutely none of the TV channels are showing CB DeMille bible movies, or even "sword and sandal" movies. I'm disappointed. I was very much in the mood for one. I do see that one of the religious stations is having professional wrestling later tonight...

For some reason that I don't really understand, I'm watching Villanova casually crush Texas Tech in basketball. They're not running the score up or anything, just doing enough to stay ahead, (saving their guys for the next game, I'm sure), but they're just basically suppressing TT any time they try to rally. To give them credit, Tech hasn't given up in what's an obviously hopeless struggle, and are still trying hard. It would help them greatly if they were able to hit the broad side of a barn. I'm amused by how, before every commercial break, the announcers fall all over themselves declaring how exciting this is, and that Tech are really threatening to make up their deficit and take the lead. Just now they characterized Villanova as "struggling to hold on to their lead", when they let TT get within six points.
TT down by ten, with a bit more than a minute to go, and they've finally admitted that "time is an issue".
Somewhat later: And Kansas v. Duke more than made up for the lacklustre first game :>
