Dude got trapped in his grain bin. A not-uncommon misfortune, to be sure. I love how they never mention his name. It's considered kind of an embarassing thing to have happen to one.

A good hundred Geese passed over at 11:30pm. The Exodus is here! The Happy Ones draw near!

And now it's after midnight, and the Geese keep coming. Summer is over.

Makes me wonder about the Festival of the Cranes migration. Last year there were very few cranes. It's an annual event at Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Preserve in San Antonio, NM, held the weekend before Thanksgiving. Previous years the ponds were full of cranes, last year not so much.

The event is formally cancelled this year because of the plague, but I expect people will be there. I might swing by as I've been thinking about driving up to ABQ for some Trader Joe's plunder.

I've been up there three or four times, Canon brings a full factory repair team and will clean and tune-up your Canon kit for you for free!  For minor repairs, at least.  And you can borrow some amazing stuff!  Two years ago I borrowed a $14,000 telephoto zoom and a new to that year mirrorless body!  It was wild.  Last year, sadly, I arrived late and got there just before the exhibition hall was closing - they closed at like 4pm on Saturday!  Weird. Here's some shots from previous years:http://waynewestphotography.com/gallery/index.php?/category/23

Do you know, those birds creak?  Once I had the opportunity, good fortune, privilege, to be standing at an open balcony on the yumpity-yumpth floor of an apartment building, so I was up high and for whatever weather-related reason they were flying low, and the twain met level-on and close, like traffic passing me by the side of the road - and those flapping wings creaked, quietly but distinctly.  I have no idea why.
