Primarily for the Brits...

If we speak of Jackie Stewart's deeds before he was knighted, e.g. during the 1966 Five Hundred, is it proper to refer to him as Sir Jackie? Ought we to say "Sir Jackie shut his engine down" or "Jackie shut his engine down"?

I awoke with the half-recalled leftovers of a dream. I was in an infinitely long, high-ceilinged, narrow hallway filled with vending machines. The only light came from the machines. The machines sold literally anything that one needed, but eventually I'd use up all of their stock, and have to move along the corridor to find more.
