It's mean-spirited of me, but I'd love to see them cancel the Pan-Am games. I think America would have a good chance of picking those up if that happened. That's how we got the 1985 iteration, and the same thing had happened about ten years prior. Every time Santiago has gotten the nod, they end up having massive rioting and have to cancel.

Just up the road (about 7 miles) from here. Car broke a utility pole, careened across the road, smashed through a fence into a cemetery, then mowed down ten tombstones! Had he gone a bit to the left, he could have ended by plunging nose-first into that open grave.

Cops found the car owner staggering around the cemetery, more or less unharmed, but falling down drunk. He didn't know if he'd been driving the car. Per the paramedics, no - he had bruises from the passenger side belt.

A shame this didn't happen on Hallowe'en.
